Bonnier Motorcycle Group Rider Study Finds New Riders Don�t Just Want Used Motorcycles
Riding a motorcycle is a fun and challenging sport, with many benefits for those who choose two wheels over four. A motorcycle can provide many years of exhilarating, convenient, and economical transportation for riders of all experience levels.
The Bonnier Motorcycle Group Rider Study found that the majority of new riders with less than five years of riding experience are in the market to purchase a new motorcycle in the next 24 months, with 39 percent of those new riders �definitely� in the market for a new machine.
The Bonnier Motorcycle Group Rider Study also reports that younger riders are more likely to purchase a new motorcycle in the next two years, with 47 percent of survey participants ages 21�24 saying they are going to buy a motorcycle in the next 24 months. By comparison, only 28 percent of consumers over the age of 65 are planning to purchase a motorcycle in the next 24 months.
So how much are they going to spend? Based on the extensive study from the Bonnier Motorcycle Group, 52 percent of riders ages 25�29 said they would spend from $5,000 to $9,999. All ages of consumers who were in the market to purchase a motorcycle indicated they would spend an average of $13,317 on a motorcycle in the next 24 months.
